چکیده

Background: While speed, safety, and efficacy are necessary in the operation of cesarean section (CS), a number new devices have been introduced to support technique. This retrospective study was conducted assess usability safety knotless barbed suture, compared conventional method, for closure uterine myometrium during section. Methods: Patients who underwent delivery at Korea University Ansan Hospital between August 2018 December 2019 were reviewed. Surgical outcomes including time, operating estimated blood loss, sonographic results residual myometrial thickness site incision 6 8 weeks after analyzed. Results: Out total 78 women, 44 patients had suture 34 suture. Compared time significantly reduced (p = 0.012). Operative loss operation, hemoglobin difference on third operative day, cases with transfusion, postpartum infection, bleeding demonstrated no significant differences two groups. At transvaginal ultrasound revealed scar thickness. Conclusion: Knotless resulted shorter increased rate perioperative complications. Our work supports that can be effectively used

New technology applications: Knotless barbed suture for tracheal resection anastomosis.

OBJECTIVES/HYPOTHESIS Tracheal resection anastomoses are often under tension and can be technically challenging. New suture materials such as V-loc (barbed, knotless wound closure device) may offer advantages over conventional methods. The objective of this study is to determine if a running V-loc suture is of comparable tensile strength to conventional closure. STUDY DESIGN Laboratory based ...

Flexor tendon repair: a comparative study between a knotless barbed suture repair and a traditional four-strand monofilament suture repair.

We compared the tensile strength of a novel knotless barbed suture method with a traditional four-strand Adelaide technique for flexor tendon repairs. Forty fresh porcine flexor tendons were transected and randomly assigned to one of the repair groups before repair. Biomechanical testing demonstrated that the tensile strengths between both tendon groups were very similar. However, less force wa...
